Leicester City Women are delighted to announce that Annie Taylor has taken up the role as ‘Head of the Development Centre’.

Annie Taylor will take up her position as Head of the Development Centre with immediate effect, a role which will see her work alongside General Manager, Jade Morgan to help oversee the next stage of the Development Centre’s successful start.

Having been with Leicester City since 16, Annie knows how important it is to have a successful pathway from junior football up to senior level, which is something she’s keen to help grow among the Development Centre at LCWFC.

“I think the pathway is extremely important, a lot of clubs these days there isn’t that progression between junior football and senior football, there’s a big fall out. The statistics are awful. A lot of girls get to that age, at under 16 or 18 and then you lose them. We’re hoping that having this joint pathway between junior football and senior football we’ll keep those girls.”

Annie already has a year of experience working with the Development Centre having spent the past season coaching the young foxes and the midfielder is now looking forward to overseeing the expansion of the Development Centre as it grows up to 6 different age groups.

LCWFC Manager, Jonathan Morgan was delighted to be able to announce Annie as the Head of the Development Centre, stating;

“Annie is a fantastic appointment. We’ve known her since the age of 16 when she was a quiet young girl and she’s grown into a great person both on and off the football pitch.”

“As a club, we feel she’ll be a great addition and hopefully Annie will be able to pass on her positive mentality onto the younger girls and we’re delighted to bring her into the club as the Head of the Development Centre.”
