Leicester City Women Football Club

About

LCWFC have been running for just under 15 years, during which time, 4 successive promotions saw them rise up to the FA Women’s Premier League Northern Division, peaking in 3rd place consecutively from 2009/10 to the 2011/12 season. During the 2012/13 season Leicester City Women struggled in the league and were unfortunately relegated on the final day of the season.

After finishing 2nd in two consecutive season’s LCWFC finally sealed promotion back to the Northern Division with a 10-0 win over Rotherham United Ladies. The victory came after a run of 19 consecutive league wins as LCWFC broke many league records.

Over the years the Leicester City Women FC has seen 20+ players involved with the International set up at various youth levels and continuously strives to produce more. Most notably Ex Captain Remi Allen gained over 20 caps at International level and won a European Gold Medal

In 2018, Leicester City Women were awarded a licence for Tier 2, in the newly rebranded FA Women’s Championship.
