Leicester City Women Manager Jonathan Morgan is excited for the football season to return

Manager Jonathan Morgan is expecting a tough test but is excited for the return of the football season.

“We’ve worked hard and tirelessly for this moment throughout all of pre-season, every year there is something special about the first match of the season, but this year there is something extra special – our first time at this level.”

Leicester City Women have announced a host of new faces for the squad this week but Jonathan Morgan has been impressed with their effort and commitment shown throughout pre-season.

“We have had the new signings at the Club for a while, in fact our business was completed very early on. They have all settled in very well and are girls we feel share our ambition as a Club.

“The coaches are delighted with how everything has all come together, I can’t wait to see how the first game day turns out.”

The Foxes kick off the 2018/19 season at home to Bristol City Women before travelling to Manchester next weekend for Round Two of the League Cup with a fixture against last season’s runners-up Manchester City Women.

“We have a tough [Continental Tyres] group, we are taking it all one game at a time, no expectations. We are here to enjoy it and play our best football. I am positive that if we do that, we will have a successful outcome in the competition.”

Tickets for the clash against Bristol City Women are available on the gate at Farley Way Stadium (LE12 8RB) priced at just £5 Adults and £2.50 for Concessions and Under 16’s.
