Leicester City Women Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Lia Cataldo who joins the Foxes having left Millwall Lionesses at the end of the 2018/19 season.

The midfielder came through Arsenal’s Academy, winning the Development League title in 2017/18 before following Manager Chris Phillips across London to Millwall Lionesses.

Lia arrives at the Club with England Under 17 experience having helped the Young Lionesses reach the semi-finals at the 2018 UEFA European Championships in Lithuania.

Having made 18 appearances for the Lionesses last season, Lia is looking forward to getting started with her new team-mates.

Speaking to LCWFC TV, Lia Cataldo said: “I decided to join Leicester because I’m looking for a new challenge, Leicester are really interested in developing youth players and bringing through young players which I think is great.

I think it’s a great opportunity here knowing that the Club are trying to push for promotion, I just can’t wait to be a part of it.”

Leicester City Women Manager, Jonathan Morgan said: “Lia is a very versatile player with plenty of pedigree. Her understanding of the game for her age is fantastic.

Myself and the Club will be looking to push Lia to the next level whilst also benefiting from her ability straight away.”
