Leicester City Women travel to Crystal Palace tomorrow for the opening game of the 2018/19 FA Women’s Championship season.

The 2018/19 FA Women’s Championship season kicks off this Sunday with the Foxes on the road to face fellow Championship newcomers Crystal Palace Ladies.

Jonathan Morgan will be looking to build on a positive start to the season after the Continental Tyres League Cup matches in August.

Crystal Palace Ladies have picked up five points from their two Continental Cup matches.

When, Where and Tickets 

Leicester City Women will travel to Bromley FC’s Hayes Lane to take on Crystal Palace Ladies on Sunday 9 September, kick off at 2pm.

Tickets are priced at £5 Adults with Under 16’s getting in free with a paying adult. Foxes fans are able to purchase tickets on the gate before the match.

Ella Franklin-Fraiture remains Leicester’s only long-term absentee with a dislocated collarbone, Otherwise, Jonathan Morgan has a fully fit side to choose from, with a possibility of a further two City debuts in Freya Thomas and Natasha Hudson. 

Crystal Palace

Having brought in many new faces over a busy summer for the Club, Palace will be hoping they can hit the ground running when it comes to the Championship. The side includes plenty of experience in tier two with Four summer arrivals joining from sides in the division.

Leicester City’s last outing was a tough 4-0 defeat against Manchester City Women in the Continental Tyres League Cup.


Crystal Palace’s last match saw them beat Women’s Super League side Yeovil Town Ladies 1-0 thanks to a late goal from summer signing Jordan Butler. The Eagles currently sit top of their Continental Tyres League Cup


  • Both sides will be playing their first match in the FA Women’s Championship having received licences over the summer for tier two
  • Having beaten both Tottenham on penalties and Yeovil Town during the Continental Cup, Crystal Palace are looking to continue their winning start to the season.
