Young midfielder Ella Franklin-Fraiture becomes Leicester City Women’s sixth signing of the summer as the Club steps up its preparations for the 2018/19 FA Women’s Championship season.

Franklin-Fraiture played for Oxford United Women in the 2017/18 season, making 17 appearances in a team which also featured fellow LCWFC newcomer Taome Oliver.

Speaking to LCWFC TV, Ella Franklin-Fraiture said: “I’m so excited to begin a fresh challenge at Leicester City Women. They are an ambitious club and I’m looking forward to playing my part in what I’m sure will be a successful season.

The Club have put together a really talented squad and I believe we’ll be an extremely tough side to beat this year!”

Leicester City Women Manager Jonathan Morgan said: “Ella is a bonus for us, we recognised her as a target but didn’t feel we could bring her in. She’s an eight out of ten player, week in week out.

Her attitude is fantastic and she’s a model professional that our younger players will be able to learn a lot from.”

Ella Franklin-Fraiture joined Oxford United Women aged 10, rising through the ranks before breaking into the first team at the start of the 2014 FA WSL season. She netted 4 times for Oxford during her time at the club.

The defender joined up with her new Leicester City team-mates early in July as the players joined up for pre-season training ahead of the 2018/19 FA Women’s Championship season.
