Demi Lambourne signs for Leicester City Women

Leicester City Women have bolstered their defensive options with the signing of goalkeeper Demi Lambourne from Oxford United Women

  • The goalkeeper made over 50 appearances for Oxford United Women in WSL2
  • The 22-year-old joined Oxford United at 15 from Reading’s Centre of Excellence

Leicester City Women Football Club have added to their defensive options with the signing of experienced goalkeeper Demi Lambourne, the 22-year-old made 65 appearances for Oxford United Women in a five-year spell.

The goalkeeper came through Reading’s Centre of Excellence before joining Oxford United at 15. Having made her senior debut in 2014 aged 17, Lambourne has also represented England at under 19 level.

Speaking to LCWFC TV, Demi Lambourne said: “I’m pleased to have officially signed for Leicester City Women. I felt like it was the best decision for myself as a player to make the move.

I can’t wait to get the season started with such a welcoming Club. They have great ambition and give players a great platform to succeed.”

Leicester City Women Manager, Jonathan Morgan said: “I’m delighted to have brought Demi into the Club, she comes with proven experience at this level and is still hungry to learn more.

Demi is an excellent communicator and will also have a great impact on our young goalkeepers.” 

Demi could be in line for her Leicester City Women debut on Sunday as the Foxes host Bristol City Women at Farley Way Stadium in the opening game of the Continental Tyres League Cup.
