LCWFC Vs West Brom – Preview

West Brom arrive in Quorn tonight just 4 points above the relegation zone and watching over their shoulders as Guiseley have 3 games in hand over the Baggies. last time out, Louis Sowe’s side lost an enthralling tie against Bradford City which saw Bradford striker Hannah Campbell net a hat-trick in a 4-2 win.

Last Time We Played

Leicester arrived at The Mikes’ Ground in November on the back of an impressive 7-2 away win at AFC Fylde and it didn’t take long for Leicester to turn on the style again. Former Baggie Olivia Mitcham put the visitor’s 1-0 up inside the opening 15 minutes before top scorer Rosie Axten doubled their lead just 2 minutes later.

On the stroke of half time, Leicester were awarded a penalty which Rosie Axten duly slotted home. The hosts pulled a goal back from the spot just after the hour mark with Leah Seivwright scoring on her debut but the points were wrapped up for the Foxes when Shauna Cossens ghosted in at the back post to head home a looping cross. 4-1.

The Form Guide

With 6 wins in their last 7 home games, Leicester have enjoyed their matches at Farley Way Stadium, despite the blip against Guiseley last time out, the Foxes have netted 38 goals in 14 home games in all competitions.

West Brom’s away form hasn’t been ideal, winning just 1 of their 9 games so far away from home in the league, the Baggies have two away games remaining to try and pick up some vital wins.

West Brom arrive here with just 1 win in their last 5 in all competitions whilst for the Foxes, it’s just 1 defeat in their last 5.

LCWFC Manager Jonathan Morgan

“Obviously a lot of the talk is about Sunday’s League Cup Final. but we have to put that right out of our minds and focus 100% on the West Brom game. We’ve slipped up before and we cannot afford to do that again.”
