Grace Riglar signs for Leicester City Women

Leicester City Women have bolstered their defensive options with the addition of former Bristol City defender Grace Riglar

  • Grace Riglar has previously captained the England Colleges National Team
  • The defender has spent the previous seven years at WSL side Bristol City
  • The 18-year-old was captain of Bristol City’s Development Team who reached the FA WSL Academy Plate Final

Leicester City Women Football Club are delighted to announce the signing of defender Grace Riglar who joins the Foxes having left Bristol City Women at the end of 2018/19.

The defender joined Bristol Academy aged 12 and has spent the past seven seasons in the South West. Last season, Grace captained the Bristol City Development Squad last season and featured in the First Team squad for the visit of Liverpool.

Grace has also represented her country, captaining the England Colleges National Team in 2018 during the Barcelona Football Trophy.

Speaking to LCWFC TV, Grace Riglar said: “I came to Leicester because I want to set myself a new challenge as a player. The Club, the philosophy of the Club, and what Jonathan is bringing together, really excites me.

I’ve been really impressed with the Club since joining, the professionalism throughout the age groups is great and it’s been really exciting to see.”

Leicester City Women Manager, Jonathan Morgan said: “Grace is a fantastic addition to the squad. We were lucky to have her down towards the end of last season and she impressed everyone.

“Grace is a composed ball playing defender and I am really excited to work with her.”

The 18-year-old joined up with her new Foxes team-mates at the start of July when the squad returned for pre-season training.
